Our Elder Care Coordinator (ECC) was checking in on a client when she noticed things were off at her home. The ECC arrived at the home to check in as scheduled, but no one answered the door. We were able to obtain permission to enter the home from a relative, only to find our client was not there. Our ECC spoke with a neighbor who saw an ambulance and believed our client was taken away in it. While our attorney, confirmed the location and status of our client, the ECC noticed our client’s dog was still in her crate from overnight. She cleaned up the crate, took the dog outside, got the pet some water, and then headed to the hospital. Our ECC was present for the doctor’s evaluation of our client and was able to reassure that client that our ECC was working to find someone to watch over her pet.
