KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Eloy Van Hal
Eloy van Hal, hailing from the Netherlands, will deliver our keynote address. Mr. van Hal is the Senior Managing Consultant and Founder of The Hogeweyk, the world-renowned Dementia Village outside of Amsterdam. He is a highly sought-after international speaker and serves as a Consultant for improving dementia care on various projects spanning North America, Europe, and Asia. R. Dennison Keller Jr., Esq. is the owner of The Law Practice of Dennison Keller. Dennison will moderate a conversation with our presenters discussing the future of elder care for the baby boomer population.
Bryan Adler
Bryan J. Adler, Esq. is a Certified Elder Law Attorney through the National Elder Law Foundation, and a partner with Rothkoff Law Group in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He will be discussing the impact of race, religion, and sexuality in long term care.
Dr. J. Michael Smith
Dr. J. Michael Smith, MD is a world-renowned cardiac surgeon, serving as Medical Director of Cardiovascular Surgical Research at The Christ Hospital Health Network. He will shed light on how medical tech advancements are contributing to elders living longer lives.
Jennifer Heston-Mullins
Jennifer Heston-Mullins, PhD, LISW is a Research Scholar with the Scripps Gerontology Center at Miami University. She will share her findings on the pilot project, “Our Family, Our Way” – a communication and care coordination resource for care giving families.
Kristin Cooley
Kristin Cooley, LISW-S, LCSW is a clinical social worker who offers a hybrid of counseling, care planning and psychoeducational services. Kristin will uncover the unspoken and less-talked-about behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia.
Sydney N. Pahren
Sydney N. Pahren, Esq. is an Associate Attorney with Dinsmore. She will be explaining the impact of “Esther’s Law,” a brand new Ohio law that allows families to set up cameras inside their loved one’s nursing home room.
Amy Hamm*
Amy Hamm, BA has extensive experience in management, marketing of all levels of care for Seniors: Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Care, Memory Care, and Home Health Care. Amy is currently the Senior Marketing and Sales Counselor at Bethany Village.
Rev. Avery Sledge*
Rev. Avery Sledge, M. Div. serves as pastorof First UCC in Springfield Ohio. She is also a facilitator with the Dayton Children’s Hospital Gender Diversity Support Group for parents of and youth who are gender variant and served on the Board of Rainbow Elder Care.
William Booth*
William Booth, BA has worked in the field of HIV starting in the year of 2003, starting with living with HIV in 2002. He is now associated with AIDS Healthcare Foundation, the largest AIDS service organization in the world.
